Explanation
Students are divided into four teams. One player from each team runs to a station, grabs a multiplication problem card, and solves it. They record their answer on their clipboard or whiteboard and then run back to tag the next teammate. The relay continues until the visual timer runs out.
After the relay, the class gathers to:
Review select problems on the board
Recap what was learned
Reflect on learning goals together
Variations
• Adjust the timer to fit your class schedule (10–15 mins recommended)
• Use two-digit multiplication for advanced learners
• Add a bonus round with challenge cards worth double points
Progression
• Start with single-digit multiplication
• Introduce more complex problems as fluency improves
• Add speed or accuracy challenges as confidence builds
